How does it work?

Collect your fresh fruit and veges from Petone Baptist Church every Tuesday!

As part of the Wellington Regional Co-op we buy in fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables each week. The produce is delivered on Tuesday mornings, then a great team of volunteers pack it into crates and bags. It is a $15 per pack, each week, pre-pay system. You pay, that is order, by Thursday night and collect the following Tuesday.

You can start, take a break or stop at any time.

We pack produce into crates – which you empty into your own shopping or carry bag. Alternatively we use returnable, reusable co-op bags – which you must return to co-op each week. We also have an ‘after hours’ bin for those who can’t pick up during supervised hours. However, bags sometimes go missing from this bin, so it’s best to pick up during supervised hours.

Please bring your own bag to carry your pack home as the crates we sort the fruit and veges into stay at PBC.

We also use RETURNABLE bags. But you must return your previously collected bags at each visit. When you get your fruit and veges home PLEASE empty your bags immediately, turn them inside out, give them a shake, turn them back the right way and make sure they are dry.

UNCOLLECTED PRODUCE will be given to local families in need and no credit or refund is available, so if you are unable to collect please arrange for a family member or friend to collect on your behalf.
We each have our part to play. Our part is packing and giving our time as volunteers; your part is paying and picking up your orders at the arranged times and bringing your returnable bags back at you next visit. Unfortunately if you do not collect your bags or arrange for a friend to collect them we are unable to store them. Orders are bought in advance so no refunds are available.
